Description

This Banana Bread Latte blends the cozy flavors of ripe banana, warm spices, and rich espresso into a creamy, naturally sweet coffeehouse-style drink you can make in just 10 minutes. Whether enjoyed hot or iced, it tastes like banana bread in a cup comforting, affordable, and endlessly customizable.

Ingredients

  • 1 ripe banana, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup milk (dairy or plant-based: oat, almond, soy)
  • 12 espresso shots or ½ cup strong brewed coffee
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup (or honey or brown sugar)
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ⅛ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Optional toppings: whipped cream, banana chips, chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Add banana, milk, sweetener, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla extract to a blender.
  2. Blend on high until completely smooth and creamy.
  3. For the hot version: transfer the mixture to a small saucepan. Heat gently over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally until warm. Do not boil.
  4. For the iced version: shake the banana mixture with ice in a sealed jar or re-blend with ice cubes until chilled and frothy.
  5. Brew espresso or strong coffee and pour it into a mug or glass.
  6. Slowly pour the banana mixture over the coffee.
  7. Top with optional whipped cream, banana chips, or nuts for garnish.
  8. Serve immediately and enjoy.

Notes

  • Use very ripe bananas with brown spots for best sweetness and flavor.
  • You can substitute maple syrup with honey or a low-glycemic sweetener like stevia.
  • For a mocha twist, add 1 teaspoon cocoa powder to the blend.
  • Make a double batch of banana milk and refrigerate for up to 24 hours.
  • Oat milk creates a creamy texture and froths beautifully.
