Description

This creamy tram sauce combines tamarind, mayonnaise, chili garlic, and lime into a rich, tangy dip that’s ready in minutes. Bold and balanced, it’s perfect for noodles, tofu, or wraps.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons tamarind paste
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon chili garlic sauce
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 12 tablespoons water (optional, to thin the sauce)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine tamarind paste and lime juice. Stir until smooth.
  2. Add mayonnaise, chili garlic sauce, and soy sauce to the bowl.
  3. Whisk the mixture until fully blended and creamy.
  4. Stir in brown sugar and mix until dissolved.
  5. Add water gradually if you prefer a thinner consistency.
  6. Taste and adjust for sweetness, heat, or acidity.
  7. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors blend before serving.

Notes

  • For a vegan version, use plant-based mayonnaise.
  • Add extra chili garlic sauce for more heat.
  • The sauce keeps for 5–7 days in the fridge in an airtight container.
  • Great as a dip, sandwich spread, or noodle dressing.
  • For a nuttier flavor, a drop of sesame oil can be added.
